I deliver pizzas during the weekend and usually because of the distance(which is not that much) i take the freeway. From one point to another point is probably 2 or 3 miles the most in distance. my question is when should i use cruise control? Cruise control is mostly for really far distances or i can use anytime?? just trying to safe a little more gas and money. thanks

When you are driving long distances. For instance: I live near los angeles and when I drive to Lake Tahoe, I use cruise control when I'm going to be driving 70-75 miles an hour for an exteneded period of time. The drive time to Lake Tahoe from Los Angeles is about 11 hours or more for me.

Cruise Control is important in my opinion because it can keep your leg from falling asleep and keep you from getting fatigued sooner than you would if you didn't have this feature, thereby keeping the driver more alert. You can actually stretch your legs while you are driving when you use cruise control

It should not be a luxury feature.

they say not to use cruise control unless driving far distances like you mentioned earlier, however it can be used on the freeway as well, and the reason is your driving speed stays the same, therefore your rpms stay the same as well. Which in turn saves on gas, the more stops you have to make the more gas you use up. My advice fill your tank and every time you take the freeway use your cruise control, the next time you need to fill up with gas every time you drive on the freeway don't use your cruise and compare the two, that way you know if its worth it to use your cruise control or not. Good Luck!

Using Cruise Control Does help Save Gas Since You Aren't Stepping On The Gas As Much As You Would Be Without It.The Car Automatically Does it For you and At The Speed You Want It To Be.

Cruise control is good, esply for long distance driving..where the traffic flow is constant. It does help in the freeway, though. However, if u want to drive economically, u cud always release the gas when u know u r abt to b at a stop, before hand n let ur car roll to the stop lights.I find this very economical.

I normally use the Cruise Control when traveling long distances on the highway or on the turnpike. When there is high-traffic, sometimes you might get carried away and start speeding down the road. This will probably end up getting you a ticket or a suspended license. On cruise control you can lock in the speed limit and rest assure that it will not change unless you speed up or lower the velocity. Trust me, it works.

if you deliver pizza's and you take the freeway i would use cruise control all the way until you know when the exit is coming up and go to your destination .. it saves gas time and energy ! plus your feet won't kill by the end of the night

There is nothing to stop you using cruise control at any time - but I think you will find - if you compare that the savings on such small trips will be pretty much negligible.

Alternatively you could just tell Tom to behave lol

It's really not worth it to use cruise control if you're only going a couple of miles, you can if you want, it won't hurt anything, but make sure you're going a high enough speed and traffic isn't too tight!

I dont bother with it on short hops like you mention...traffic frequently gets in the way. I only use it on longer hauls, light traffic, and no mountains, the idea being to avoid your transmission shifting back and forth under load. Having your foot on the gas can be a lifesaver should conditions suddenly dictate a change of speed.
