What makes a non-Christian marriage so special? Or any other faith based marriage for that matter?
Who are you to question the quality of a marriage based on a couple's faith? It doesn't matter if you are athiest, pagan, catholic, whatever.... different people make their marriages work in different ways. In my opinion, if anyone thinks their marriage is special, then good for them.
Stop being so closed minded.

Honestly squirrel friend...no one has a high likelihood of marriage success these days and few respect any sacredness in it. People marry knowing they can always get a divorced if they fight over whether the stool lid should be up or down or if someone better just comes along.

My parents have been married for 55 years. If you see my ex and you want to drop a nut on his head, go right ahead.

Well, "Gorgeous" beat me to the punch, so I'll just agree that free license to brainwash your children is an important benefit of Christian marriage. I did go to the asker's listed website and was not at all surprised by what I found. I also know that increased college education reduces the divorce rate. The earth-shattering conclusion of all this is, stupid ignorant people have a much higher divorce rate than intelligent educated people. Why am I not surprised.............

What do you base your info off of. Most Marriages Christian or not usually lead in divorce. Unless your religion does not allow for a divorce and then you are forced to stay in an unhappy marriage.

A truly Christian marriage is the union of two people with the blessing of God as the uniting factor. If the two people got married because of their love for each other and the knowledge that God is the binding factor there woul dbe no divorce, but the majority, which scews your information since the majority are Christians, dont have God in mind, and only themselves. That is the difference. Have a great day and God bless, thanks for the opportunity to spread the truth.

You have to speak for your own religion or group.

The rate of divorce in the Mormon religion is 4%. There is no other religion or statistic that can touch that.

That is the lowest in any sect.

A Mormon relationship is so speacial because we truly know that Gods exsists and we are 2 in the same purpose and we live for him and we believe in much sacrifice. We do not do things in our relationships that cause disstrust like drinking, drugs or things that would violate are new and everlasting covenant or make us vile.

We also have temple ordinances like sealing of marriages and familys for time and eternity. This is what Jesus was speaking of when he said that he gave his apostles to seal things on heaven and earth.

When you have a conviction in your heart and truly know God exists you live to keep the commandments so you can keep your home happy, kids safe and the adversary out of your life.

I testiify that there is one true church that brings familys together and bears burdens.

It is a promise from God that if you read the book of Mormon and ask him in the name of Christ if these things are true he will manifest them to you by the power of the holy ghost.

In jesus name Amen

The acceptance of the Presence of GOD with in that marriage is what makes a Christian marriage extra special
Marriages only end in the divorce because it never started with GOD in the middle of it there was no GOD and it ended with no GOD. When people because to understand what marriage really is. that its not just between a man and his wife but GOD man and his wife then all would be well with them.

ROFLOL!
I have to say that your irony struck me so funny! (As a Christian, I should add).

To answer your question, if Christians do not honor the vows they made to God, then nothing makes it special.
There are times in my own marriage of 16 years that I have had to remind myself that I made this promise to stay married to my husband to God Himself, not my hubby. In my own mind and heart, I would be breaking a sacred promise if I divorced him (as many times as I have been tempted to). If I do not honor that, then my marriage is like any other and just as prone to divorce, if not more so.

Marriage is an institution created by God and is sacred.....

I don't care what the statistics say.....God hates divorce.....and allows only one reason for divorce....adultery.
