Without looking like a faux-pas?I tried getting chocolate/copper highlights and it looked horrible.This time I'm thinking of getting sandy-blonde highlights.The sad thing is that I'm a real brunette (my hair color and skin complexion resemble Catherine Zeta Jones') but I want a change.

Yay! Finally another brunette looking to get blonde highlights. If I were you, i would get i dark dirty blonde color. Sandy blone would look good to. You could also always ask a hairdresser what blonde color would look best.

Try a caramel/sandy color, but ask you stylist first to see if it would work well.
