I had a tooth pulled on saturday, it was a bad extraction. I just rinsed with warm salt water, and a little bllod mixed with saliva came out. Not a lot just a little. Is this normal?

Yes, very... I would keep rinsing with the salt water and don't eat anything that can get stuck in the hole that is left. *Listen to your dentist* I made the mistake of not listening and went back in, which was worse than getting it pulled out the first time. Good luck

Hi Renee, yes, it's absolutely normal for some blood to still come out when you rinse. Just keep doing what you are doing now. Warm salt water is the best choice. Also, stay away from acidic food and juices. Best to drink water or dilute your juice for now. And soft foods, of course. After every meal you have to rinse. If you don't have access to salt at the time, warm water will do; just make sure you keep the wound clean. In a couple of days, it'll be a thing of the past and will be forgotten. However, if you bleed more than a little and have throbbing pain, return to your dentist immediately. For right now, seems like there isn't no such problem and as long as you keep the wound clean, there shouldn't be either. You are doing the right thing. Keep it up :) MsB.

Yup, and keep up your rinsing routine. If they had to do a lot of digging then you don't want to get "dry sockets". Now THAT hurts!

Yeah, gums tend to bleed a while after a extraction.

Yes it is normal until the hole heels. Don't stop rinsing...
