However, today is not one of those days. It's cold, foggy, and supposed to rain. During one of the many sunny days, however, it's SO nice to just listen to the waves and read a book. When I worked down in Newport Beach, I would sometimes drive down to the beach for my lunch hour, take off my shoes, and sit in my beach chair and read. Once I even dozed off and came back late!
My advice is to make sure you have a good job prospect before you "run off" to California. In order to lay on the beach, you have to work in order to live and pay rent or mortgage. Graduate school, then see about coming out here. Check out UCSB. They have dorms right on the bluffs above the beach.

Well if you go to the beach expect to freeze you behind because it is raining , foggy and cold. Even the sea lions are not comming out.
