Gre8Dane what the heck? This person didnt ask for you to tell them what to feed them. What a weird thing to say, and there are many companies that make large breed puppy food with extra protien for large breeds, so she can feed the dog that, and add some cooked meat to the diet to be sure the dog gets the added proteins. SHEEEESH.

I also had one and his name was "Mannetjie" (I'm Afrikaans speaking) It mean "small man" and when they grow up you'll see that Great Dane Males behave like humans. They take care of the ladies in their lifes. Mine died 3 months after his lady (also a Dane) died. He missed her too much.

I hope you know that you should never feed your Dane puppy food, only adult food.
Texelgirl2 - Great Danes are not a large breed they are a giant breed. I've been rescuing them and caring for them for 30 years and more. I merely added this because few people seem to know much about Great Dane nutrition, or about giant breeds in general. I would prefer to help someone before their puppy has joint and bone problems from an improper diet.
And Danes should not have a high protein diet, it can cause severe problems.
