(followed by a healthy diet) help me lose a few pounds and tone up?

Yes it would. You also need to do some strength training with weights to tone your muscles, too. Toning will help you to loose the weight but the weights will help define the muscle even more and also give you more core strength.

You need to also worry about the impact on your knees and other joints so if you can try walking at a fast pace for a longer distance. Another key factor if make sure you eat plenty of fiber, protein and the right amount of complex carbs to fuel your muscles and body. And drink plenty of water (More than the recommended 64oz) if you are exercising that hard.

o yeah but your diet should eat lots of calcium. it has been linked many times to weight loss and eat both fibers solube and insolube.. such as oats and cereal and wheats and 2 hand full of almonds a day.. but rinse them off first and eat any nots but not salted and eat the little flacky skins on them that has lots of fiber.. solube fiber stays in your tummy and is hard to digest so you feel full longer and your metabolism works harder to get rid of it.. so you burn more caleries then you eat.. same with oatmeal but get the non-flavored non-sweetend kind.. if you need some flaver add berrys.. black berries are great and healthy for you and strawberries or cherrys any kind its good.. and insolube fiber is like a bulldozer.. it just shoots threw you and picking up un wanted fats in your body and pushing food out of your intestents.. so that means its in you less and your body wont obsorbe more unwanted caleries and fats from it.. and it cleans you out.. also poly and mono unsaturated fats help eat body fat.. thats the good fats and saturated and trans are evil fats.. try also to add protien to yor diet cause its hard to digest and the best part is when you metabolism gets more caleries to burn to get ride of protien it likes to get them from your belly fat.. so protien is great... well hope this little bit helps but you can look all this up online yourself.. just google it
also if you activate your muscles they will start burnign caleries. so do some leg squats .. one squat activates 258 diffrent muscles.. and some bench.. but you dont have to work out just do some to activat them b4 the run.. or after.. and dont take anything b4 you run food wise except protien.. cause if food is in your tummy when you run your body will take caleries from that and not yor fat.. then eat after you run.. good luck
