No, honey, it is a sign of something else.

I know you want others to know you are hurting inside for some reason and that is why it feels good to cut. Please find a person you trust and talk with them. I hope you are able to curb this need and address the core issue with help.

Please, as stupid as it may sound, talk with your parent or counselor. If not them, call the local women's center and try to meet with one of their usually free resources. There are other ways to express this constructively.

May you find the peace you desire.

First of all, if you need anybody to talk to then email me.
Now, please try your best to resist these urges. I know it's so hard, but you can do it!
I had went a whole year and a half without cutting myself, but sadly it all came back. I'm struggling so hard not to do it and sometimes I don't always win.
Please don't give in to your urges. There are so many other options to explore besides self harming yourself.
Try holding an ice cube in your hand until it melts. I heard it's painful. I plan to do that myself the next time I feel an urge to cut myself.
Good luck with everything.

Honey, cutting may seem like it does good at the time, but it makes you worse in the long run. Instead, considering ripping up a pillow, or something, or making a burn box. Write down your feelings towards the issue on little slips of paper, put them in a decorative box, and burn them. Whatever you do, though, don't hurt yourself. Some truly beautiful and trouble people do the ugliest things to themselves like that, don't do the same.

I got my last response to a "cutting" question deleted, because I honestly thought it was a joke. I didn't realize that kids actually cut themselves. I mentioned it to my girlfriend, and she said that SHE used to cut herself in high school!

Are ya'll serious? What does that help? Why would you inflict physical pain on yourself? Onto others...I'd understand. But on yourself?

I don't understand people turning a negative into another negative. Why not turn it into a positive? Go out and party. Get arrested. Have fun. Do something nuts.

If we weren't all crazy, we'd all go insane. Nothings worth worrying about. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow and die, and then what? Would you be happy you spent your time hurting yourself? No. You'd say "Man, I wish I had done more cool stuff and went on more adventures and gotten into more trouble!...rather than sitting around and moping and feeling sorry for myself".

I guess I might feel "down" if I was sober...but thankfully that hasn't happened in a really long time, hehe.

NO! Please seek professional help. My brother used to resort to this form of 'self torture' when he was depressed and he even tried to commit suicide He had a lot of anger issues to deal with, too, but he sought help and he has completely recovered! He's been married almost 3 yrs and has a great job and is happier than he's ever been. You CAN get better, but you first have to find out why you're doing this and deal with the underlying problems! GOD BLESS AND HANG IN THERE!

Dont. I did for 3 years and I finally just stopped last year. I know it seems like it helps and it makes you feel alive and lets you release any emotional pain you have. There are better ways though. Talk to someone, tell them how you feel. Its a lot more rewarding then ugly scars

I cut..and yes..it does help..but I would not suggest starting to cut. Once you start, it will more than likely become addiction..as it has with me. You should try to find a different way to cope.

See a psychologist or therapist. Find a hobby. Self abuse does not help anything. It is a symptom of other problems that need to be dealt with.
