I'm trying to decide where to go on vacation next year...I know, it is early but I want to go ahead and book it so I can guarantee a spot. It is a small travel company that i'm going through. I'm trying to decide between an Ireland/Scotland tour and a Russia tour. The Ireland/Scotland tour i've been wanting to do for several years now, goes all over the eastern/Northern part of Ireland, then Scotland. Russia goes pretty much all the major parts of Russia. Russia is more expensive and i've heard much colder than Ireland/Scotland. I'll be going by myself so i'll have to take that into consideration as well. Where would you go if you had the choice?

And if Ireland/Scotland or Russia, why?

Ireland/Scotland

Just the landscape alone would put this in first place. Not to mention the castles are awesome!

Have a memorable time.:)

It sounds like you'd really rather go to Ireland/Scotland. It is probably a safer place to go by yourself than Russia is, although Russia could be fascinating.

You might try to find a travel companion - both to share the costs and to have someone to be safer with, and to talk with. With a travel companion, you at least always know someone wherever you go. It could be a male or a female. Who knows -- you may make a new best friend -- or more.

You could ask on here if anyone wants to go -- just make sure to check into them, to make sure they are safe!

I've never been interested in going to Russia,so I'd have to say go to Ireland/Scotland.

try to think about your roots... do you have connections with either one? and language.. where will you be able to get the most of the experience , where English is spoken , or a difficult foreign language. In both of the English speaking countries, there are delightful bike trail or walking trail for that matter, that you can just go off to see the the surrounding areas, without fear, but that would not be desirable in Russia. and finally, what can you bring home... crystal, dishes and tartan, or fur coat and hat?
