for the average person, anything under 30 minutes is good.

but its all relative.
what was your previous 5K time?
did you do better than your previous best?
did you do better than you hoped?

as long as you did well for YOU, thats what matters. always try to do better.

A friend of mine won for her age group in about 24 minutes. There were about 50 people in her age group, so not a lot of competition, but I thought it was pretty good. considering it took me 34 minutes. I can do it in about 30 minutes now and I'm happy with that cause I have improved. The fastest girl at this particular race did it in less than 20 minutes. Fastest guy was less than 17 minutes. I would say it's a great start!

that is relative... are you comparing yourself to olympic level athletes or the regular joe.. or the person who just had a heart attack for being obese... i would say 23 minutes at any age is healthy and fit; you are averaging under 8-minute miles so regardless of age, it is an 'intense' run and not a slow, light jog... shoot for sub-7 miles and under 21 minutes.

it all depends on how old you are if you are 12 and under that rocks.. if you are 13-15 you have lots of room to get better.. if you are older than 16 than that is okay but ya keep up the running

That depends on a number of factors, including age, gender and what your purpose is for running. While it is nowhere near a worldclass time, it is respectable for many runners seeking to challenge themselves and enjoy the healthy benefits of running and compettion.

For a middle-school kid, it's not bad. For a high-school girl, it's alright. For a high-school guy, in competitive XC, it needs improvement.
