I own a pair of Nike golf shoes, in which the spikes need to be replaced. Can I basically replace them with any spike, or do I need to replace them with the exact Nike kind? In other words, are golf spikes a standard size to fit all shoes?

There are several different types of mounts, you have to make sure you buy the right ones some simply screw in while other have tabs that need to be lined up then twisted into place. Buy the tool to remove them then take the spike to match most sporting good stores have a good selection. Also if you play on a soft course that always green, buy the spikes that have alot of little spikes. If you play on a course w/alot of hard pan or very low mown fairways buy the spikes w/3 or 4 spikes called stingers. Hope this helps.

Over the years Nike has used different spikes with different mounting systems. Take the shoes to your favorite golf shop. They will be able to identify which type they are and will have the replacement spikes.

If you like the shoes and plan to keep them for a while you can buy the replacement tool and a box of spikes and do it yourself. Then as one or two wear out you can replace them yourself.

There are many manufacturers that make replacement spikes that you can use in your Nike shoes. There are, however, a number of different sizes available. Some will fit Nike's, some won't. Your best bet is to take one of your current spikes with you to the store when you buy new ones.
