Perfect beings can do no wrong, so god would have HAD to intentionally make them ever so slightly less than perfect in order to allow them to succumb to temptation.

This means god intentionally "set the stage" for their fall from grace, in fact he would have known from the instant they were created they would sin. Mortal existence can allow their progeny return TO grace, but only by enduring all the punishments for an action god KNEW they would commit from the start.

He sits back and watches all this.

God is a sadist.

Only God is perfect. Angels are not, as evidenced by Lucifer's fall, and humans are not, as evidenced by Adam's fall.

The only possible answer to your implied question is that evil must serve some good purpose, otherwise God would not have allowed it to exist. Perhaps god saw sin as a regrettable, but necessary part of human development.

I thought about this question a long time ago and have come to a conclusion at the end of my answer.

Here are some facts based on the Bible.

1) God is the only being that knows the Past, Present and Future.

2) God is the only Perfect being and doesn't make mistakes.

3) God Created Adam & Eve.

4) Adam & Eve Sinned, so therefore were not perfect.

Based on these four facts I have concluded the following:

Since God knows the future, he knew at the time he was creating Adam & Eve to Sin/Fail. He created them that way.

He could have created them differently and not to Sin/Fail. (More self control)

But for whatever reason he did what he did.

You can't blame Adam or Eve for sinning. God created them that way. (That is not free will, it is God's design)

The only reason I could think God did it was God was bored and wanted some drama or in other words less Perfection.

Also, Creating Adam & Eve got some of the Angels upset and you know how that turned out. More Drama...

What do you think of my theory?

And you are a top contributor, how, with so much ignorance for the love and passion of God the Father. Adam and Eve like you, were made in His image, with free will, they chose just as you have ignorance over being in God's graces for all eternity. They couldn't follow a simple rule like dont eat the fruit of the tree, as you cannot follow the simple rule of love God above all things with all your soul, heart and mind. Such is life and such is humanity, imperfect by nature and sinful. Have a great day and God bless, thanks for the opportunity to spread the truth.

God created our first parents with the gift of free will. He did not create them as robots. They were not programmed. God wanted them to love him and be thankful to him because they wanted to. They chose to misuse that free will and disobey only one small command. They had lots of trees to eat from, but they chose to eat from the only one that was forbidden.
You and I also have free will. We are not programmed like robots. We can make decisions and choices in life, whether good or bad, At least we can do so, and hopefully we make the right ones.
Soon our Creator will fulfill his original purpose for the earth and all mankind. If Adam & Eve had not disobeyed, where would they be now? They would be right here on a beautiful paradise earth without sickness or suffering and death would be unheard of. Our earth will soon become just like it was in the Garden of Eden, and it will be filled with true worshippers of God. (Psalm 37:9-11)

Adam and Eve were imperfect people and imperfect people make mistakes. They were in fact destined to fall. But how long it took them to do so? We may never know. May have been a day, may have been 100,000 years. But the one thing we can be sure of is that God had a plan to redeem man the whole time and that plan was through Jesus Christ. The bible says that Jesus is the lamb slain before the foundation of the Earth. God knew that man would eventually fall, but had a plan to redeem him throughout it all.

This is not true. Adam and Eve were created perfect yes, but God decided to give them freedom of choice that is God's gift to us all. We have the freedom of choice to believe in Him and lead a good happy fulfilling life. We also have the freedom of choice to believe in the bad and do all we can to be bad if we so choose to do so. The only Sadist here are the people that do not believe that the Almighty Father is good and loving and kind and tests our faith to him whenever he feels we need to learn a lesson in life and not take everything for granted. Take care Heather

If you have children then, you are a sadist too. Why would you procreate and bring a child into the world knowing full well at some point they are going to screw up? Fail a test, wreck a car, get an STD? People that have kids must like to watch them fail...

Adam and Eve were not perfect. This is the thing: God didn't want to force Adam and Eve to love Him, worship Him, or even obey Him. I mean who wants that? Forced love, Forced obedience? No, He gave them free will, which is what they would have longed for had He forced them to love Him. He gave them a choice. Pretty simple...Don't eat from the tree of evil, and you'll live, or eat from the tree and "you will surely die."

I'm glad God gave them and us free will because nobody wants to be a robot, obeying every command by force.
And plus God didn't even want that...He was like, "no I'm not gonna force them to love me, I want them to love me on their own." Which is so precious. I love God.

Free-will is the response.

He wants a relationship, not a robot. He wants people who want to be His.

Being created in His image, you have the same desire more than likely. Having a dog follow you out of fear isn't the same thing as one who follows you because it wants to.

He doesn't sit back and watch, thankfully. He sent the perfect answer to man's failure.

God knew from the start that this would happen. He created them perfect, and then He, AND WE, watched and waited for Adam and Eve to choose to eat the fruit. When they did, we all cheered, because we were finally going to get the opportunity to come to earth and gain a physical body, learn, grow, become parents (hopefully), and finally die and return to our heavenly home.

What is sadistic about that?
