Thaanks if you responded, but still have more questions:

Russian citizen with J-1 Visa and two year home requirement (immigration, J-1, K-1 2 year home requirement)?
Here is the deal, I'm with a russian who originally came here on J-1 VISA. We would like to stay but can't because of the two year home requirement? I'd like to know if anyone has any experience with the following:

1.) Filing finace visa paperwork including the I-485 to change status. On this form is a question about J-1 does anyone have any experience in saying "no" when in fact you do? Was it overlooked, flagged, was there punishment?
--This I admit, probably a bad idea, but I'm curious if anyone knows of specific punishments in regards to wrong wrong answers on the I-485 J-1 question?

2.) My girlfriend also has an option of getting a job in Russia, with a russian company but she will be required to do much work in the UK? Perhaps as much as 50% of the time. Would this satisfy 2-year home requirement??

1. The worldwide computer system knows what kind of visa you had.

2. 212(E) says you don't get your immigrant visa unless you can prove that you have "resided and been physically present in the country of his nationality or his last residence for an aggregate of a least two years following departure from the United States." Unless the UK was such a place, that won't work, either. Remember, it is your responsibilty to prove that you abided by the law; not the consul's responsibility to prove that you broke it.
