Are you referring to the "star alliance" that they are both members of? If so, then I don't have any problem with that. All that is is a way for them to sell seats on the others flights. Delta/Northwest/Continental also has a similar agreement.
On the other hand, if you were asking if they would make a good merger possibility, then NO, I don't like it. US Air can't even complete the merge with America West, how would they even attempt to merge with the much larger UAL? It would be a mess that would only hurt competition and the flying public.

I liked it better when United Airlines and Delta Airlines were partners. Delta flies to more and better destinations than US Airways. Also from my experience, Delta has better service than US Airways.

I flew united statesairlines from Mass to Tenn final February and vowed to tell anybody I knew to on no account holiday that airline. It took me 24 hours!! to get there, the staff from the cost ticket brokers to the flight attendants have been impolite (those people placed on standby because of the fact of their incompetence) have been even sworn at. Sorry it rather is not probable answering your question; I in basic terms needed you to know that U.S. airlines is unquestionably not the thank you to bypass to any holiday spot.

Not really, because the more airlines that merge, the higher airline tickets will be because of less competition. I always hate to see it when airlines merge.
