It's really freakin' me out but lately, and I must add this fact that it's only when i sleep in the passenger front side of my car for a nap, i've been dreaming of something holding me back. Like a force, or as corny as may be, or spirit holding me back. I can't wake up I hear my alarm but this "thing" keeps me down and when I do wake up I feel like i was suffocating (in which i think i do because i'm always out of breath). Should i be scared? it's not just one time that this has happened but two or three times this happened? anyone that can help please do!

well it depends on how you look at it. From a psychological stand point - this "spirit" holding you down is a manifestation of someone or something in your life that isn't allowing to move forward. Now I don't know you so I can't delve any deeper into this. But that's my best guess from a purely psychoanalytical view.

Now from a spiritual perspective...there's a spirit that is trying to tell you something. Next time you have this dream don't struggle with the force that is holding you down. There is a reason it's doing this. Try to communicate with it.

Another theory is that you are just sleeping in a weird position so your mind responds to the body in the manner.

Lastly it's just a dream.

This does not sound like a dream, this actually sounds like sleep paralysis. Even though it is freaky and can be disturbing it is not dangerous. Its actually a natural phenomina, it happens when the natural paralytic that your body produces to keep you from acting out your dreams does not wear off in time before you wake up. You may have sleep apnea, especially if you have a big wide neck. If its not a medical problem, your dream might mean you are stuck in life and you find your situation suffocating with no way out. You also may feel like the people around you are holding you back from acheiving your goals. Or you could just be scared of dying and need to make peace with your Maker, lol

Its called sleep paralysis. I have it to when your brain goes into to REM sleep your body naturally goes into temporary paralysis and sometimes you slightly wake up from it and cant move. Its nothing to be scared of alot of people have it

It's because you're sleeping in an uncomfortable place like your car buddy, your bodily senses affect dreams sometimes.
