i met this beautiful girl at the wedding reception of my friend last week. later i found out that she was his cousin.
before leaving, i tried to look for her to get her cell number, but i could not find her.

If you actualy think you'll like her for more than just the physical reasons then i say go for it. But remeber, your friend will only give you it if you're being genuine. Just like go up to him and ask if you can have a quick and say you met his cousin at the wedding, and you got on really well and is it ok with him if you have her number. simple

Why don't you start by asking if his cousin is single cause you think she's great.... and if the answer is yes, and I'm assuming it will be as you never mentioned her date at the wedding, you can then ask him for her number - and then the hard bit - phone her......
An other alternative is for your friend to question this girl... and see if she remembers you and what her stance is!
Might as well go for it - even send her a text at the start if you are a bit shy!

just ask him for it...normally boys are very protective of their female relatives which means that
...if you have bad reputations with the ladies then he wont give you the number point blank..
just sound very genuine and sincere about the whole thing.
