If you are praying something and you feel a block or wall....should you press forward or change your prayer?
What would block a prayer besides sin and unbelief?

So some of you are saying a block is a "NO"?
Why would I assume that and not allow God to say that?

When I have done all I can do I stand.Stand being the key word.Give it to God,He will make it clear to you, the answer. We do not have to guess about what Gods answer is.
So stand ,till God answers.

We pray, not to change God, but to be changed. As Jesus prayed, "Not My will, but Thine."
I don't know you or your situation enough to really give you an answer, so I'll offer you some possibilities to consider.
When you feel a block, are you sure it's not your own doubt rather than God saying "no."? Have you searched the scriptures to be sure that what you are praying for is within the realm of God's will?
Should you press forward? That's hard to say as well. If what you are asking is not a sin, but you feel like you shouldn't do it, you have to determine whether you feel that way because you are actually afraid to do it even though you may want to, you feel guilty about pursuing it because of how it may affect others, or because you don't trust that God will help you.
I don't think you should change your prayers unless there is something wrong with them. Hannah prayed for a child for years even though she continued to go childless for many years. Yet, it would be counterproductive to pray for something that would take you one direction when God is leading you in another. I guess the key is to pray, and be open to the opportunities God presents to you.
Sin and unbelief can block prayer. So can doubt according to the first chapter of James. False guilt can stand in your way.
This is really tough to answer because there are so many variables. If you have trouble in general feeling sure of God in your life or knowing what to do, I encourage you to read "Boundaries" by John Townsend and Henry Cloud. It's life-changing, and it deals with so many sources of our struggles in our relationship with God and others.
My belief is that you need to identify exactly what the block is before you can decide how to procede.

Oftentimes God does not give us a yes or no answer but rather says for us to wait. A delayed answer is not necessarily a no answer. A case in point can be found in Scripture with Zacharias—the father of John the Baptist. God delayed the answer to the prayer of he and his wife to have a child. The reason is that God had something in mind that was better than they ever dreamed. Their child was to be the forerunner of the Messiah. Yet they had to wait until they were very old before they saw the birth of this child because of God's timing. They wanted a son but got a prophet instead.

Nothing blocks prayer, or communication to God. God hears all, and knows our thoughts afar off. The Bible says that we should let our requests be made known unto God. God never ignores, even if you've sinned a million times. God still loves us, and wants to hear our concerns and pleas.

You have got to press forward until your worship becomes warfare. When Zion travails she brings forth her children you have got to prevail in prayer until u have gotten your victory besides sin and un belief praying foolishly and repetitiously would also be of no effect The bible says the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. so first your prayer has got to be effective it has to to be fervent and you have got to be a righteous man/ woman. lol GOD bless.

i don't ever feel a block to my prayers. when i am praying, i praise god, make my requests, talk to him as if i were conversing with a friend. but, if you feel as if something is keeping you from god, then i guess i would have to say that you should perservere until that wall is gone! god bless!!!!
