Put them in a bowl of water, if they turn end up then they are stale if they lie on their side they are fine. 3 days is nothing.....'best buy' dates are basically for guidance only!!

The way to tell is put the eggs in a bowl of cold water. If they sink and lay on their side, they are still fresh. If the big end sits up, they are not so fresh, but still OK to eat. If they float, they are past it and should be chucked away!!!

They're fine. Eggs are fine even a couple of weeks out of date, but the older they get the only thing they're good for is boiling.

The date put on a carton is a sell by date wich is used to protect everybodys butt as far as the manufacturer and the store. Food is usually good for several days if not weeks after the sell by date. Just remember the rule.If it smells bad you might not want to put it in your mouth(unless its supposed to smell bad)!

I hope they are ok 21 days out of date... I had an omlette with some yesterday and I'm feeling ok.

I think there is something you can do with dropping them in water and if they float they are ok or sink they are ok... oh I don't know, someone on here will know this useless bit of info.

I would not take the risk with eggs. You could always check them in a bowl of water and see if they float or sink. This usually tells you whether they still okay or not. If it sinks its fresh and okay if it floats its not good. Don't touch it.

You do have to be careful with eggs they can make you extremely ill.

If they've been in the fridge and in their carton, most likely they're still good. Get a cup of cold water and put one in and see if it floats. If it floats, it's bad.
