I eat hot sauce on everything I eat. I love jalapenos, and habaneros. I never have a problem with it hurting. Also I dont think it overpowers your food. Some people just have different tastes. Like me I hate fish. Alot of people love fish.

I like them just because. I don't really have a reason. I don't eat spicy food every day. But if spicy is an option, I would choose to have it once in a while. Also, spicy food opens up my sinus too :)

where is spicy cuisine typically from? let's take a tour of spicy cuisine:

thai food can be spicy
hispanic food = jalapenos
then we have the wasabis - usually with sushi
horseradish is spicy

it's my theory that spicy food evolved in a few ways:
1. spicy food makes you sweat - spicy food seems prevalent in tropical and/or hot parts of the world, therefore: spicy food =a simple air-conditioning solution

2. spicy food is prevalent in cuisine where bacteria can be present: wasabi (sushsi, raw fish dishes)/ horseradish (sausage, entrails, intestines), jalapenos/hispanic food (also entrail laden foods, and raw fish i.e. ceviche)
spices usually have anti-bacterial qualities in food

3. spicy foods are probably supplemental in a vitamine wherein the culture is usually lacking -
subconsciously we know what our bodies need and unhappiness is possible a manifest by our bodies as well as minds!

I don't find it overpowers flavours- and I don't think it hurts.
I love spicy- Mexican, Thai, Indian- good stuff.
Tastes unique, it's a good vasodilator. I always cook spicy when I have a stuffy nose and feel sooo much better. Don't need drugs!

BTW, capsaicin, the ingredient in pepper, is used as a topical pain reliever.

That kind of food isn't good, but a well-spiced meal brings out all sorts of flavours!
