of himself that he was able to tell them before I was.

I don't even care to begin with, but then he texts and calls me immediately, SO proud of himself!

It's getting annoying ... what can I diagnose him with and get him to move on to something else?

lol...sounds very very familiar!!! Not to make this sound bad but everybody in my family is that way too, and it's not just the immediate family, everyone is in on it, Uncles, Cousins, Aunts...etc
I really don't think there is something you can do for him to help him move on...the only thing I know is when the gossip is about him he'll get tired of it all real quick and not be interested in the whole thing anymore

I have a sis 4 years older than me. My Dad is a widower and she relies on him financially even though she is 46 and able to work. She is jealous if my Dad comes to visit me and my family. My point is tat it could be worse for you. If you believe that your parents still think you care about them even though you do not deliver the news to them then you are OK. If you feel that you are neglecting your folks then check in with them more ofetn even if you have no gossip to share. Ignore the brother's annoying behavior. You probably have bigger fish to fry.

No diagnosis. He just doesn't have a life of his own. He is doing this so that he can feel important and get approval from your parents. You do not tell him anything that you are not wanting your parents to find out until you can tell them. You can also respond to his calls or text messages by not answering. Neither of you are acting your ages.

mental age not equals physical age. Just ignore the whole thing and don't show inteest in the subject. Don'tmake a big deal out of it. It take at least two people to compete and or fight. If you take yourself out of the competition then the game is over.

Don't answer his texts or calls for awhile. The thrill of gloating to you right after he is immature and a gossip will be gone because you won't respond to him right away, taking away his gratification of 'beating you'.

You said "I don't even care to begin with" but it's apparent that you do or you wouldn't be posting about it, nor would you have followed that up with "It's getting annoying"

If that's what it takes for him to feel important then let it go. If you really don't care then REALLY don't care.

Why don't I diagnose you both with a severe case of adolescent sibling rivalry so you can go on with your life. Grow up! Both of you! He can only annoy you if you let him.

well, i think your brother got nothing to do with his life so he's trying to keep himself busy with relaying gossip...better tell him to apply at the tabloids so that he can earn some money...than telling everybody for free ;>

The thing to do here is to come up with totally outlandish and imposable rumors to feed him so he will look like the idiot he is when he goes to your parents.

you will just have to tell him you dont care, then stop answering him when he calls to tell you, obviously you must be older and he feels jealous of you and needs to get your parents approval by telling them stuff before you do
