About 9 months ago, a warrant was issued for my arrest for a failure to appear on a minor in possession I got.. I was told I need to appear in court on 7/27, but it turned out my court date was 7/24. The bond out on my warrant is $500. Since this warrant has nothing to do with my license of anything like that, if I just pay the bond, am I done? Even though I haven't really dealt with the MIP, yet? Or is there something else I need to do? Any help would be great! Thanks!

The bond only secures your appearance in court. You HAVE to take care of the underlying charge, or you will simply get another order for your arrest.

So originally you had a court date on a minor possession charge, hence the reason no bail, you failed to appear to which a warrant for you arrest has been issued 9 months ago?
Be careful if the car you are driving is listed in your name all the policed have to do is run your plates on a public road, and bam you will be in jail

You can not just pay the bond you must address the underlying reason the court date, which you have no knowledge of the outcome. Another issue is since you already failed to appear once will a bondsmen post your bail?

Some states can revoke your license if you are a minor found in possession of intoxicants. However, in your state that may not apply. As one competent poster pointed out, bond simply secures your appearance in court, unless it allows you to sign a waiver and plead guilty.

Don't try to phone in and ask if you have a warrant. Most agencies do not provide warrant information over the phone. If in doubt, show up and see the judge.

You need to surrender yourself on the warrant, that is, go the issuing court, check in with the probation department (usually), explain the mistake. You will probably be reassigned a hearing date. Make sure you get it right.

I would not go physically to the police station. You might be booked because of the warrant. Instead, call them and then pay what you need right away.

Failure to appear is usually not bondable
