Or do you think Feminism killed this?
Husbands, love you wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
He who loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever hates his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one." - Ephesians 5:25-31..Do you think Men value and respect women more today or Less?

When you have a real man and woman who truly know themselves and their nature, then these words come to life. Takes a deeply spiritual mature person to understand it though, and not too many contemporaries have made it to that level, so the above words are easily gobbled up by pop culture thinking. You wouldn't find this kind of thinking is Cosmo magazine.

I think for awhile women had a hard time, and men did not respect them, but I think the pendulum is swinging back, if for no other reason than women have more economic power in the US than they used to, and can afford to marry later and be more choosy about it. Also not being able to use pregnancy to subjugate them as much as they used to may also contribute, now that we have birth control. If some group of extremists were to get the upper hand here like the Taliban did in Afghanistan, that would change though and all the more reason to maintain and protect our separation of church and state to make sure such things don't happen. American women have a good thing in comparison to alot of countries, and shouldn't take it for granted, it could be taken away from us at any time if we aren't vigilant. To answer your question, no I don't think feminism killed that, for awhile there men used other parts of the bible to put women down, and keep them there, and I think that women are more equal in the US makes it possible for them to be valued more, not less.

Why do you Christians have to turn everything into a test of faith? How a man feels about his wife has everything to do with the quality of their relationship and nothing to do with religion. I think the way men and women think about each other has been polarized by the social effects of Feminism. Some men love their wives even more because they are proud of them as dynamic capable individuals. Other men hate all women even more because feminism has all but destroyed modern family life. Now days, both husband and wife must work hard just to achieve the effective income a husband alone could easily provide before feminism "improved" our civilization. I confess that I feel much differently about my own wife than I do about modern women in general.

I have noticed that the older I get, the more misogynistic I've become. I don't like this about myself, but I can't seem to change my negative first impression of most modern women. All that fine clothing, make-up, perfume, jewelry, and fancy hair just makes most women look like common street whores. I certainly don't think of my own wife in those terms!

I have a great respect for men.I do believe they are to be the head of the home. Many men will not step up to the plate and be men today. They are forever little boys.Men in their 40s still living at home and not working.
It is very sad the way men have become so lazy. They allow the woman to take care and support them. This is wrong in the eyes of God.The man is to support the family ,the wife to nurture.
Satan has deceived so many, and the woman's movement did start this. The Bible clearly said "A MAN THAT DOESN'T WORK ,DOESN'T EAT."
We need to teach our children ,the Truth and raise them to know Gods plan.Christians marriage lost out when the christian woman went to work. Her husband and children became her last focus. It is not the woman's fault again she has been deceived.
Men need to step up to the plate and once again support his family.Women need to find away to not work outside the home and raise their children.
Sorry I don't mean to offend,I worked outside the home.My daughter suffered for it.
Our children need a mother not things.
God Bless
love Nana<><

Thats a good question and it would depend on where you go for the answer. I think that in some palces more than we used to. Sometimes that part of scripture some men use/used as an excuse to be chovanistic. However, I think we generally have gone too far and have really made the role of the woman so much less than she used to be. Its almost like now if a woman is a stay-at-home mom, she is looked down on.

I'd say that men respect women far more than they used to. My grandfather thought that my grandmother was just a slave to cook his meals and wash his shirts. Thankfully, I have a real relationship, and wouldn't expect such things from anybody I date. If I want a maid, I'll hire one. What I want, instead, is a woman with high self-esteem, dignity and intelligence. Feminism has let women know that it's okay to be more than a doormat, and in fact, that to be a doormat is cheating both yourself and your mate. Being a submissive, abused doormat is definitely not what the Scriptures had in mind, in my opinion.

I think there are some but very few and far between and I think that this is why it's important to be evenly yoked spiritually. It's such a divine institution (marriage) and the way that God intended it to be. However, very few adhere to it.
What woman (with a man that loved her this much) would not be able to obey his final decisions. For he is always considering her first, loving and cherishing her. Women are not cherished enough and lose heart and therefore lose the willingness to go along with their husbands decision. Thats what I think.

i think feminism killed this.
i mean it depends on the person, but generally , women were more valued before than now. it depends on the point of view now though.
to me, i dont beleive men and woman are the same thing, i thing they are different, but complimentary...none can live without the other. but each one of them has a different role in life. feminism unfortunately killed this.it was a good cause, but it went too far.
it all depends on point of view though, and men might say, that women value them less now.. its a never ending story.. lets live in the present

Feminism has some crazies who get dragged out now and then, but a normal feminist isn't some antireligion, antifamily nutcase.

Women being allowed to go to college and get jobs hasn't changed love. And if it has, then we need men to be more confident so they can love someone who isn't completely subordinate.

I think men, in general, probably respect women more and women in general respect men less than in past times.
