Ok.. i understand that an ISO is a digital image of a CD/DVD and it can be used like the disc... but how do i use it? what program do i need? are there any easy to use apps out there for me?

This looks good.. .my purpose for this is that if i want to d/l a program or game to use, it often comes in iso for... so i use this INSTEAD of the disc. will that do it? (also, i heard a [rogram "alcohol"... is that an ISO reader?)

these programs will allow you to open, burn, mount an iso on a virtual drive (which is what you were asking about), compress, add to, or subtract from any optical media.

You can use Nero, or DVD decrypter to burn the file on to a cd/dvd to use. If you want to just view what files are in it Nero might work (not sure) or magic iso will view it. Are you trying to make iso's?
