Specifically, how the earth revolves around the sun, slingshotting out into space, just to be pulled back by gravity and slingshot again. It's an interesting system. I was just wondering why he did it that way.

To somewhat clarify, why didn't God do it some other way?

Gravity, which we really no almost nothing about, is just our subjective perception of a force in this universe. We may be (probably are) totally wrong in our understanding.

The earth isn't "slingshotting" around the sun. It is in a controlled free-fall towards the sun due to the sun's tremendous gravitational field, which is perfectly balanced with the centripetal force trying to hurl us off into space. This is Newtonian mechanics.

Einsteinian mechanics says the sun displaces a larger portion of the fabric of space/time than the earth, but everything in the universe is also displacing space/time and the subsequent effects on the earths own displacement balances us, and keeps us from "falling down the drain" of the sun.

I suspect we still don't fully comprehend the TRUE physics of the universe, but we understand enough to utilize simple machines, electromagnetism, getting around on planet earth, and even leaving it for short journeys.

Probably we'll punch through the mysteries of quantum physics someday (especially if we ever want to travel the cosmos) and then we *may* understand how the universe truly is constructed. If there was a grand design (or designer) maybe at that point we'll encounter it.

the universe is set up it seems thought the laws of magnetics, attraction and repulsion. i think in science the forces are called the week force and the strong force, and the gravitational force. PBS has a good show on string theory.

she is way smarter than all of us put to gather on all the worlds. so we can only guess.....that why ther is science.the new priest hood

so you know how special you are for not burning from the sun's heat, how intelligent you are for learning this small fact of science, so the world we live in can see how infinitely powerful He is.
It is by His creation that no one can have an excuse of not knowing His existence.

Well he put us on this earth to STAY. Gravity keeps us here.

um, because if he didn't we wouldn't have any thing to hold us to the planet, and would just be bashing off each other like a pinball bashing off banks in a pinball machine, so I for one am grateful.
