You might have fluid in your inner ear causing the problem with hearing. Go see the doctor and they can tell when they look down your ear canal if there is fluid in there. They might prescribe antibiotics.

I know you'll think this sounds crazy, but go get ear candling done. It's an alternative treatment performed in many salons, spas and so on. Ask your doctor or look in the phone directory or online to find someone who does it near you. I have a friend who had chronic sinus headaches and infections for about a year, and they just kept coming back. she finally tried this (with skepticism i might add), and she said that it pulled all this wax and build up out of her ear (even the stuff way inside that other kits and such couldn't reach) and she hasnt had a sinus headache since!! It is painless, fast, and worth a shot. let me know how it turns out. Try it!!

No ear candling. Its very dangerous. You have an ear infection anyway, not a wax buildup. You have fluid blocking your ear canal due to the infection. Do not put anything else in your ear and keep water out of it. Go to the Dr. as soon as you are able. He will prescribe you antibiotics. Remember, don't put anything else in your ear. You are making the infection worse.

You need to make a doctors appointment girl. In the mean time maybe try to warm up some olive or sweet oil on a cotton ball and put it in your ear. that might help it drain. Good Luck.

This happened to me once. A friend suggested sweet oil. You should be able to find it a any drug store. I put in a couple of drops and the next morning the wax drained. Walla, I could hear again.

How about going to the doctor and getting it checked out. Also colds should not last a month so you should have seen the doc for this a long time ago.

Based on the fact you stated you had a cold, it could very well be an ear infection. I'd see the doc if I were you.

I had this too. You are very lucky it hasn't become painful yet. (If it does, the doctor can give you a cortisone shot to get rid of the inflammation so some of the fluid can drain out and you can hear again.)
If there's no pain, he will probably just give you antibiotics to clear up the infection. Take care of this right away! If you don't, it can get much worse. I ended up with chronic sinitus. :(

Eustachian tube dysfunction. Decongestant or steroid nasal spray for a few days will help.
