would keep for a week or two? I'd like to also keep it fairly healthy, and any suggestions are welcome, I've found it difficult to be working full time, preparing meals, cleaning and getting to bed in time hard to juggle, so this should help me out immensely - so ideas?

It is hard, to work, and cook. I grocery shop on sundays. I plan what I am going to cook, and buy the supplies. I chop, and clean the veggies, and seperate the meat (chicken, ground beef etc, in serving size portions). But... I make dinner for 4 everynight. There are only 2 of us, but it makes leftovers for lunch the next day. (saves money too)

There isn't a set week of food I've found, but I do have a few tips for using food. Pick 5 recipes from foodtv.com, allrecipes.com, or your favorite cook book. I find its best to do a main dish, and I do the same rotation of side dishes. Whatever is your favorite. Rachel Ray is pretty genius when it comes to 30 minute meals. They are easy, and good.

I hope you mean you're going to freeze the meals. I don't think anything you make on Saturday morning would last until the following Thursday in the refrigerator.

That being said, I do this too. I found that spaghetti pie (or baked spaghetti, as some people call it :)), lasagna, meatloaf, and chicken pot pie all freeze really well. Don't cook any of them first though. I mean, go ahead and cook your ground beef/sausage for your lasagna, for example, but don't actually bake it. Let it come to room temperature after you assemble it, then wrap very well in Saran Wrap then in foil.

Also, sloppy joes work well. Since you have to cook them to make them, all you need to do is defrost them then re=heat in the microwave. I use a Gladware container to store it in the freezer. Keeps the air out really well.

If you check out the foodnetwork.com and search for Robin Miller, or just google her, you will find lots of recipes from her. I believe her show on the food network is called Quick Fixes with Robin Miller, and I know that she does what you are looking for...she'll make a meal on a certain day, and use those same ingredients to make other meals for the rest of the week.

Good Luck! :)

All the above ideas are great, but dont forget about marinating chicken and freezing it in the marinade. That way, when you defrost it (possibly grill?) it'll be super marinated and you wont have to put much effort intoit........... I'd stick to freezable soups, casseroles, and alot of pasta dishes that you can freeze the sauce and just make the noodles when you get home.......... (same with rice). You can put soup/stew-ready vegetables in a freezer bag..........freeze waffles, and the like. Good luck!

I would start by making a couple of large roasts and then putting them in meal size packages. You can make casseroles or whatever with the meats during the week and just add vegetables or a salad.

It would be nice if you cooked a nice spaghetti meal with sauce and a salad to go with it too.
You could also have rice and curry too.

Hope this has helped.

White chili. Make a pot, then put into large baggies & freeze. Breakfast casserole, same thing, cut & bag.
