I am having a hard time potty training my almost 3 year old. She throws up if she catches a wiff of her own poo & pee - so she associates the 'potty' with vomit. She once went number 2 in the toilet - was so proud, looked at it, and threw up. HELP!!

This is more than weak tummy-you have a problem. Look little ones find the potty a big deal. It is an issue with control, and to some degree lack of it. They need to get in tune with their body and when to go potty. Then they have to master the actual potty. Plus what if you wait and have an accident-it is a VERY big deal. Is it possible that she is getting so worried and upset over this potty thing that she is making herself sick?

You may not mean to, but things like "be a big girl" "dont be a baby" can all lead to her getting upset and stressed. It happens. You need to relax, let her relax, and things will calm down. 30+ years ago, my cousin was like this and would cry when he had to potty-and sometimes throw up. His mom told him that going in his pants was dirty-so he got freaked if he had an accident or had to wipe. She didn't mean for that to be the result I am sure. But rest assured he figured it all out and has kids of his own now (who use the potty).

Try letting her know potty time is normal, and no big deal. I would recommend the Elmo's Potty Time video. My son loves to watch it and I think it is great at motivating kids to potty while telling them that accident's happen.

Spray some air freshener. Or get some of those plug ins . Let her pick them out.
Good Luck
