this sounds a bit on the religious side of things, so pray to whatever god you believe in to give you strength and courage to love this person.
if that was off, then just be plite and warm to the person even if you cant stand them. ignoring rude comments and just letting them roll off of you will help. just be careful that this person doesnt think that you want to be their friend, love them from afar, if that makes sense.

Is it obligitory?
Love is not a button you press to chose whenever ... it just finds its way alone and cleverly only if there is perfect atmosphere that norishes that and in you case there is a real negative background that is "Dislike" so logically talking ... the chemical equation is disturbed before pressing the wrong button.
You can pretend ... if its "obligitory"!

my question is, why will you love a person whom u dont like?
Well, maybe i dont know whats really going on but...
Try to learn the good thigns inside of that person...All person has different characteristics....good bad....
Try to be friends with her/him, know his weakness/stregnths...c if theres something that will compliment to your nature...
If that works, ull c,,,u will be more close to her/him, friendship will grow stronger and that, you will learn to love the person you never think of loving.....
