I have a Percision Power A200.2 amplifier with these specs..."Power ratings at 11-15V:
2 x 50W @ 4 ohms
2 x 100W @ 2 ohms
1 x 200W @ 4 ohms bridged
Fuse: 30A
Manufactured in 1996" How do I get the most watts from the thing? I have a few subs laying around, but I think this sub might be meant for factory car speakers. Should I get a new amp for subs? thanks..

The Art series amps built in the mid 90s were one of the best at the time. The were clean amps with big power. They were heavily under-rated. This amp was NOT meant for factory speakers!!!

I had an Art 300.2 hooked up to (2) 12" Kicker Solobaric subs. My amp was rated for 75 watts x2 at 4 ohms. I regularly hit 135dB. and won many SQ competitions.

The way to get the most out of that amp is to have (2) 8 ohm subs parallel wired and bridge the amp (mono - 1 channel). or (2) 4 ohm dvc subs. Coils are sreies wired and then each sub paralled to the amp in bridged configuration. You will be pleasently suprised what a 100 watt amp from the mid 90s will do.

Andrew K has got ya, man!
30(amperes) x 13(volts) x .8(80% eff.) = 312 watts 'max' (assuming 80% efficiency)
I wouldn't say their WAY underrated, but it is clean power.
You should use 1 4Ohm woofer bridged (150wrms at least) for good, strong sound.

100 watts X 2 @ 2 ohms - Two 100 watt RMS 2 ohm subs on each channel or two 100 watt 4 ohm DVC in parallel, like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/SINGLE-PARALLEL.jpg one on each channel

or

200 watts X 1 @ 4 ohms bridged - one 200 watt RMS 4 ohm sub or two 100 watt RMS 4 ohm DVC subs ran in series-parallel, like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/PARALLEL-SERIES.jpg

The answer is in the specs.
