My friend is a new immigrant in Canada and does not have his perminent resident status yet but he would like to travel to USA with me for a wedding (2 day event). What would he need to fill out to make it possible for him to travel with me to the states?

Try the closest American Embassy or Consulate

Applicants for visitor visas should generally apply at the American Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. Although visa applicants may apply at any U.S. consular office abroad, it may be more difficult to qualify for the visa outside the country of permanent residence.

What are canadian laws? to get into USA and not be Canadian you will need a passport the bear minimum. And probably a visa to travel here because of the people who come to visit and never leave..

I doubt such is possible without a permanent residence status card as the Americans are very strict on things like this.Perhaps if you have a Canadian passport and are willing to sign a document signed by a notary as regards your friend's legitimate Canadian status, then possibly.

I had a friend visit me from Canada he drove into Seattle Washington to fly from there. When he got to the Canadian border he showed them his driver license and birth cert. They asked him what he was going to do and he said " I am visiting my friend in the US" after that they allowed him thru and he flew to see me.

I am not sure if he had to do anything other then bring his license and birth cert as far as I know that is all he needed.

If you want to make sure contact a travel agency or gov office and ask they should be able to help..

Sorry I can not be of more help

Your friend will need his passport. Additionally, any documentation regarding his current immigrant proceedings should be brought with him. He should also check with Canadian officials to find out if leaving the country (Canada) during his provisional status has any affect on the immigration proceedings already in place.

My dad's south african friend came with us to the states one day, but it took forever. I think you might need a visa for that.
