Bitmap, RAW, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, & PDF.
I know that they all can be used t osave and display pictures.
So why is it that DIGITAL Cameras
usually use RW, JPEG or TIFF(?)?
Also are there other formats to save pictures in?

There are many different kinds of image formats. Most are compressed, such as JPEG and GIF. Some are uncompressed, such as RAW. Since quality can be lost in compression, formats like RAW are better for image quality.

Bitmap opens up in Paint
JPEG is one of the most widespread formats used for pictures followed by PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
GIF is used in animated pictures
PDF is the extension for a file which opens with Adobe Reader
