The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) believe that we lived with God before coming to this earth, that in a pre-existence state we shouted for joy over Jesus Christ's plan for us to come to this earth and learn by mortal experiences and trials.
The Church also believes that the purpose of living on this earth is to learn, grow, progress in ways that we could not do as spirits. For example, you cannot "know" what salt tastes like unless you actually taste it. Likewise, we cannot learn about choice and accountability without being required to make choices.
Finally, the Church believes that after your mortal "probation" of learning, you will be judged and assigned to a level or "kingdom" in the life to come.
All of these believes are support by scriptural references.

I think the only religion that is a Christian sect is LDS. There are many scriptures that tell this, but most will discount them as not being about us, or saying that God created our bodies and then put the spirit in our bodies, instead of the other way around. If Christ and Satan and other angels could be with God before The Fall, why couldn't we have been there also, as spirit children of God? It makes sense to me. God said that He knows us, that He knew us before He even created the world. And if you believe that God and Christ were before the earth, why couldn't we have been too?

I know most people will say that we are wrong for thinking this, or that God couldn't do that, but like the scriptures say, with God nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).

We all lived in the pre-mortal existence with our Heavenly Father before coming to earth and take a tabernacle of flesh, blood, and bone.

Paganism, in general... Which does tie into the whole re-incarnation deal. But many Pagan paths express belief that before there was ever anything physical (the earth, etc), we, as spirits, existed elsewhere.

I think most religions believe that God existed before the beginning of the world, as He created the world.

Good question. Plato believed this but I'm not sure if any established religions believe this. I look forward to the answers.
