John is dating Cindy. John and some friends go to a strip club. Joan is dating Billy. Joan and some female friends go to a strip club to see the females. Is it ok for Joan to do it and not for John? How is John more disgusting for it? Isn't this a double standard?

For John it is a FEMALE strip club. And Cinna, why would just assume Joan is straight for dating Billy? Have you ever heard of BI-SEXUALITY?

I agree with you who say that its messed up when a guy is a stud for sleeping with many women and women are whores for doing the same thing.

Yes it's an unfair double standard and Billy should watch Joan...

One would assume that if Joan is dating Billy, that Joan is heterosexual. If she goes to see the females strip, one would assume that she would not be sexually attracted.

If John is dating Cindy, and John goes to a strip club (which you didn't indicate which sex he is going to see) one would also assume that John is going to see females and that he WOULD be attracted.

That is why most people would find it acceptable for Joan to take part but not John. They wouldn't be judged by the same standards, so not a double standard if you base it on this.

it is a double standard and we all just have to live with it. just like john is the man for sleeping with 50 people but joan is a s l u t whore for doing the same... the world is an imperfect place.

people have the right to make their own choices.

cindy can't tell john what to do, but really.... isn't there something more productive to do with his time than hang out at a strip club?

same for joan.

neither has a life.

It's not really a double standard, they're both the same thing, it's no more wrong for the man than the woman

Double standards are rampant....why is it that guys can nail anything that walks, sits or even crouches and they are a 'ladies man' but if a woman does the same, she is a tramp?
