There are so many different religions because it reflects the many different cultures within humanity. You may know the correct choice by asking Deity to show you the right path. They are not all wrong. Atheism may be the logical choice, but it is the logically lamest choice out there. There is no imagination or infinite possibilities with atheism. There is much more happiness, fun, and enjoyment to be found in the true religion. Keep the search alive!!

there are so many religions because religion is a purely human construct, that is, it was invented by the earliest humans as a way to explain natural phenomena they did not understand and could not possibly comprehend. every culture on earth has developed and refined their own creation myth and each of these creation myths have evolved into some form of religion or way to live your life. the concept of religion itself is neither right nor wrong but in the force necessary to change one belief system for another. this is what is wrong with religious beliefs...they must be forced upon those who are unwilling to change the ones they cherish. now, since no religion on this planet can produce irrefutable evidence to confirm for the REST OF US that their particular version of god is the "worthy" one, there simply isnt a correct one or an incorrect one. it just depends on what part of the world you grew up in or which myth has the most influence on you...therefore, i conclude that atheism is indeed the only logical choice and one that is easily arrived at if one simply follows the evidence where it leads.

There are soooo many religions because there are sooo many people, all of whom have free will. You see this play out in many religions, as soon as it is remotely big there are splinter groups and some of them grow bigger than the original. Plus religion can be personal thusly different from person to person. Add in that people experience things differently and different folks like different things...
After all there are many correct ways to teach/educate people. Some methods work better than others for certain people. The martial arts have split many times and will continue as someone adapts them to new cultures or the current times, or tires to make money or look flashy or less flashy.

People were widely scattered many thousands of years ago. They had no communication or connection with each other.
Each group in contemplating death, tried to figure out a way of not actually dieing. The human imagination has no limits, so different methods of cheating death was dreamed up.
At first, people believed that every single thing was controlled by its own god. That was revised in the Western world to only one "god".
Another reason for divisions is the interpretation of the scraps of writings left behind by people who lived thousands of years ago. Why modern people believe those superstitious people who had no special education in what they wrote about, is beyond me.
Anyway, isn't it nice to believe that when you die, you're not really dead, but some sub-microscopic bit of us will sail off into the zillions of miles to this land of milk and honey, then inflate back to what we were before death ?
Dreams are wonderful, so long as we know they're just dreams.

Well...really there aren't that many if you were to think of all Christians as one. Then you are only left with Jewish, Muslim, Christian and a few cult types such as Mormon and JWs.

The reason there are so many different branches of Christianity is becasue of the Protestant reformation. Prior to that everyone was Catholic.

But I wouldn't say that because there are so many that we might as well not believe at all. That just doesn't make sense. Take the time to seek God...he will lead you.

Common Grace
All people everywhere have some piece of the picture, some glimpse of eternity. Some will be closer to the real picture, some will be further away. Everyone must seek truth, not just blindly go on without examining why they think a certain way.
Atheism is just another belief system, like every other belief system. It is still necessary to examine it for truth.

Man needs something or someone to worship. And if they will not worship God, they will invent another God.

How to answer your question is both easy and hard. The

TRUE

Christian religion it the correct one. Now the question arises, which is the true Christian religion. The Bible is my only recognized creed. We can discuss this more if you want to but trying to answer your question is this. the book of St. John would be the first place to look to find out the correct religion.

I attend a, "church of GOD"', assembly here
our assembly affiliates with Anderson, Indiana. There should hopefully be a number of such assemblies where you live or near to where you live.

Atheism is

DEFINATELY

not a logicall choice.

I hope I have been of help.

Look, how I see it is like people mainly in this country have many religions as underwear. They use religion like shirts, if that doesn't fit they change it and the problem itself is lack of faith. Many people in the name of Jesus or God open a church and 5 years later they are rich and live in mansions thanks to the money of those who are jumping from religion to religion. I don't believe that there is not God. I believe in God and every time that I see the sky, the rain, the creatures, firmly I believe in Him. Last year I went to Puerto Rico and flying above the Caribbean it is amazing, the different colors of the water, all kinds of blue, turquoise, deep navy blue, emerald green, light green, and immediately came to my mind this thought: Looks like God was playing with his finger in the water and mixing the colors. I look to the infinite and I said to Him, thank you for create the ocean, the land and all that beauty for us!!

Because they appeal to a wide varaity of people!

I mean Martin Luther didn't like pieces of the Catholic church...he changed it!

King Henry 8th wanted to divorce his wife but the C.C. wouldn't let him...he changed it!

There are so many wonderful religions out there...there is one for each individual, atheism and agonosticism included...sometimes people don't believe in a "god-figure" and that is what they believe! they follow themselves, not an instution. Some people believe in a "god-figure" that does not interact with the human populous...that just fine too! Some believe God is a "ghost" or a shadow, some believe God is a He...some believe its a She! some believe its both! Some believe its millions of gods split from 1 large God.

I believe in God as the father, son, holy spirit...i believe he forgives for sins and does not punish us but teaches through experience...he loves unconditionally and will never forsake us even if we forsake him...but thats just me...

Honestly there are 3 billion people in this world...each person has an opinion on a "god-figure" even if they don't believe in a "god-figure"

There is no "correct" god/goddess/spirit because there are so many opinions and interpretations of him/her/it

Atheism is a logical choice and so is christianity, hinduism, muslim, agnostism, wicca, spiritualism...when we accept all religious we can truly understand who "god" is!

i hope this helped!

Had Allah so willed, there would have been one religion and one language of the human beings. It is in the Holy Quran. Just meditate, why did He Plan that several religions should exist and vie with each other in excelling on the good deeds... !
