a foxhole is a term used in war when combat in going on. it is a small ditch that is dug to provide cover from enemy fire. the foxhole prayer is a last minute prayer when someone thinks death is close. of course Jehovah listens to all prayers, but prayer should be a daily exercise not when we need something or when we feel in danger. the prayer often referred to the "lords prayer" in matt:6 9-12 is a example for us the follow. but of course all prayers should come the heart. 1 thess 5:17-18 says we need to pray incessantly. there are many other scriptures from the bible that i would like to share with you on this question. Or you can look up Jehovahs witnesses in you area. But to answer the question you asked needs much more explaining and cannot be answered with a yes or no. I hope this helps.

A "foxhole" prayer is simply a prayer offered up to God asking for help in the most dire of situations. (You've already read the military context.)
Now, the term generally implies that the person's prior relationship with God was "distant" at best.

If you ask ppl in the military, they can easy give you this one. Its great.
If you are in a foxhole during wartime, all alone ,you and a few buddies, and the enemy is coming right at you and you know you are going to die, thats a foxhole moment. Many athiests at that time will also cry out to God for help. Why? if they dont believe, why do they cry out? Its because God gave us all a certain measure of faith, to learn more about or to reject. Its all choice, but down deep everyone knows on some level, cuz that little bit of faith was given to them at conception. and when there is nowhere else to Go, most will call on God. I always say there is no true athiest, just one that has not fessed up yet, cuz he doesnt want to live for God yet. Enjoying lifes sinful pleasures too much..
But, that is what a foxhole prayer is, when the athiest even calls out to God. Good stuff, just too bad that so many wait till its too late, as they miss out on all of His blessings thruout their entire life. PRAY for them all to know Jesus early.

It is an individual thing. We are saved individually not collectively. It does work. Salvation is not dependant on whether you are in a church building on Sunday or not. It depends on whether you are sincere or not.
The Bible did not say he that believes in time of physical danger in a foxhole, it only says he that believes.
BUT
you have to be sincere.

OH JESUS CHRIST, DON'T LET MEH DIE!! DON'T LET ME DIE!
Or something like that.
There are atheists in foxholes, whether the fundies want to accept that or not. I know quite a few of them.
