I could leave well alone, but somehow I don't. This is not particularly like me. Do you think a higher (or lower or equal) power is leading me to do it and if so which one? Why do you think so (or think not)? If not, then why do you think I do it?
I am interested in all considered opinions. Please do not paste scripture without an accompanying explanation.

Please note: I am aware that many christians feel that there are no inconsistencies in the bible. I am not asking for answers that contest my viewpoint; I am asking for answers as to WHY I argue.

In light of the fact that we Buddhists are taught to conduct our speech correctly without needless chatter, I often ask myself the same thing... always checking myself on my "intent" as is necessary... and I think it's about balance. For those of us who are engaged with the world, in a world where people use religion as a weapon to hurt others, it's fair balance to reply. It depends on how you do it and your intent.
Why you do it is according to your own reasons and intent. I have no right to judge your actions at all.

Most likely its because you believe in the Golden Rule and actually know what it means. You yourself feel that if it was you following such harmful dogma you would want someone to point it out to you.

Im guessing you live in America. As a result, you are constantly bombarded with Christian propaganda, Christian lies and Christian deceit. As a result, it makes you loathe Christianity. Thus, you tend to argue against it the most. If it were Muslims banging on your door, calling for Islamic law to be made into the laws of our country, etc. - you'd be complaining about them... Its all relative.
I bag on the Christians the most too. Its where I live. They bring it to me - so its their fault as far as Im concerned.

There are two reasons. First, its intellectuallly challenging and second its a fluke of human nature to bless others with one's views.

You're searching for truth...and not necessarily finding it where you're looking.
