Congratulations, you have understood one of the most fundamental yet least understood Christianity facts of all time.
I share your opinion about how some of my brothers and sisters in Christ start to trash other religions. Do not get me wrong of course, I do believe that I follow the one true God and that other religions are man-made. However, I strongly disapprove of other Christians' manner of criticising other religions.
What I'm ok with:
1. Discussing about the historical reliability of the various Scriptures of different religions and proving that Christian texts withstand the test of age and time and the standards of history.
2. Discussing the historical, psychological and logical existence of Lord Jesus Christ.
What I'm not ok with:
1. Demeaning other faiths and saying that what they teach is 100% immoral.
2. Judging people and condemning them by their current beliefs.
Which is why I said that it's surprising that most Christians do not understand this fundamental fact of Christianity. The best way of convincing others is not to put them down unfairly, but rather make an objective evaluation based on fairness, logic and concern. Acknowledge their burning passion for their beliefs and that some values preached within their faiths are moral and good. Many Christians take acknowledging other faiths' good points as falling in line with them. That is not true. In fact, earning the animosity of others is counter-productive.
As a matter of fact, a Christian should live his/her life out as an exemplary testimony to others, that others might see that Christians, indeed, are a different and holy group of people.
This IMHO, is the best way of spreading peace and the good news. Christians need to realise that Christianity is distinct from other religions because Lord Jesus died for our sins. The distinctive feature isn't the teaching of good moral values (although it does preach excellent values).
Perhaps realising this would let my brothers and sisters in Christ to be more tolerant, less judgemental and walk more in step with the will of God.

I am a Christian. I was raised in church, but I have also had rough times when I questioned my faith. I honestly can't tell you why some (maybe even most) Christians are judgmental, and attack other people's beliefs. It is so wrong of them to do that, not to mention it is against Jesus's message to love everyone. If anyone is questioning Christianity, I hope you will not be discouraged by those kinds of "Christians". There are nice Christians out there, I promise!

Atheists are closed minded and arrogant because they do not even concede the possibility of the existence of God.
At the same time people think Christians are arrogant and closed minded because they care about people and want to help them achieve salvation and they know God is real.
When you get two groups together who believe opposites and are not willing to concede the possibility that the others group could be right you will have conflict.
In addition "conflict sells". All entertainment, including fact based, is dependent on conflict between characters because the conflict interests or intrigues people.
As long as you have people and free will or choices you will have conflict. As long as you have conflict you will have people attacking each other.

Ah... Innocence.... so tasty....
I will make this clear in an inoffensive way to you.
People are animals. I don't mean that in a nasty way... but simply to say there are certain things that are built right into us, and no matter what we might be taught, it won't last long against our animal instincts.
Those instincts drive us to compete.... to drive off the competition and any potential threats to our way of life. That is how people can be so aggressive to each other even when their "beliefs" have quite a clear stand on aggression (against it). They will twist their beliefs around their instinctive need.....
You can't hold it against them really though. They cannot help it. It is partially through instinct that you yourself are christian.... so it is much the same really. You just answer to different aspects than do they.

A true Christian worships God, and we adore the full truths He teaches us that He tells us to obey. The gift of salvation is free. But holding on to it requires obedience, as it is so easy to be deceived by those preaching error today.
A true Christian wont attack another person or their religion, but they will surely get them to look at a belief that is errorr, to question it, as they want all of Gods truth for that person, and God tells them to speak up for full truth. He doesnt want us believing any errors, so easy to be deceived.
Its not about just having ethics and values and morals. no. many will have all that and wont be saved. Its about Jesus, and its about loving Him, obeying Him, living like Him and knowing what scripture says to be able to do that. If we dont know what He says to do, How can we obey it.
Obedience leads to blessings and disobedience leads to curse.
So any true Christian will have to speak up against error. Its what we are called to do, not to attack another person, but to attack another lie of the devil.
when a religion is teaching only values without obedience, they are a man made religion. WE dont follow man made rules and traditions, but we do follow the full teachings of Jesus Chrsit. oh yeah... Read it in Gods word.

Your right it's not about religion,it is about Christ. I'm sorry that you think being a good moral person, means more than what you belive. It dosen't. Christ is all there is and it dosen't matter how good you think you are you are lost withiout Him and you remain in your state of death. Sorry that you don't have a passion for Christ, you know He did for you.
