i want to reclass but THEY tell me it is not possible for the job i want. i am stuck in this unit and want to move onto bigger and better things,but it seems they have other plans for me i have no control of.i just want to no if their is any way around this.

They will only allow you to reclass if your MOS is overstrength and the one you want to reclass into is understrength.

Remember that it costs the Army money to do this.

You need to write an exception to policy memorandum stating how it benefits the Army for you to be allowed to transfer and (if it applies) how staying where you are impedes your career.

This would be addressed to your commander (probably BN or BDE). If there is a specific unit that is recruiting you, the 1SG or CSM can help you compose it. Otherwise if you do a search on Yahoo or Google you'll get a bunch of examples of the format. Remember though, it's about how it helps the Army, not you, that is the key.

You are pretty much stuck until the end of your enlistment. At that time you can request for a change in your MOS..............
