No. Guantanamo Bay is dubious but necessary. Secure the oil fields via military bases and then bring our troops home. Funding for alternative fuel to support emerging technology driven markets. My vote will go to the candidate that appeals to moderation. Its time we have a leader that brings out the best in all Americans - not just the ones that agree with him or her. Its time we take off our gloves, back out of our corners and get something done. Its pointless to keep up the fighting between the liberals and the neo conservatives. What has it accomplished? I want a leader that will force compromise if necessary - for the good of the country.

Well if you have to have a promise to vote for someone, then you have bigger problems. First of all, All the Liberals will use getting out of Iraq as a campaign tool, but the fact is we will not be leaving, Iraq anytime soon. Contrary to what the left press tells you there a great things happening in Iraq, for instance, children are getting to go back to schools, we are establishing a government and military, women are getting equal rights , and we are rebuilding their structures, just to name a few. Bottom line is we are in Iraq, so GET OVER IT!!!!! Now on the alternative fuel, it won't happen, the Big 3 are too powerful. As for the prisoners getting a fair trail, we don't need to spend the money, and they didn't give our soldiers who were beheaded or dragged through the streets any rights, so they don't deserve any either. We don't need promises. We need a candidate with well thought out plans, and those plans need to be identified before the election. And for you gullible liberals, don't believe a word Clinton II says, remember her plan for health care for everyone when her husband was president, where did all that go, just something to get her name in the limelight. The only liberal that has any sort of idea of what it takes to be President is Biden. We need a President with a Backbone, like the one we have now.

I really have to wonder about some people.
1. Why should non-US Citizens receive at Guantanamo receive trial as if they were US Citizens? Answer: They shouldn't, 99.9 % of the detainees there aren't US Citizens.
2. This is just ignorant. We should up and leave Iraq before they've stabilized? Isn't that just asking for more problems later. Do you realize how difficult of a time we had rebuilding Germany and Japan?
3 This administration is funding alternative fuel sources. Where have you been? Were you just born yesterday?

There's more proof out there, go look for it.
Maybe you should stop listening to all the babbling by from the left side of the aisle and do some research before you start making erroneous claims.

I generally agree, but you need to ad the phrase "him or her" to your finally question. Also, in politics making promises is a deadly way to campaign. Once you make a promise, then anyone who disagrees on that single promise may turn against you by overlooking the general ideas that govern the candidates plate form.
We must get out of Iraq ASAP, but unfortunately there are consequences for our behavior in the Middle East which can get worse if we do not genuinely seek the best and most functional manner of leaving Iraq.
For example, we must stop thinking like bullies and start thinking like a Nation among Nations. We need the United Nations to assist us in finding a solution to the situation in Iraq at the present time. What is it going to cost us to seek help and advice from the EU, NATO, the UN and each and every Country on a one to one bases?
Maybe folks will think we have come to our senses, and Now we are seeking answers to the problems of the Middle East and not creating problems for the world.

The only thing that matters is they lower taxes. I don't care what they do with Guantanamo Bay, the Iraq war, alternative fuels. The cost of living continually rises, taxes have only been down since Bush was in office, but everything else has gone up.
I think the government wastes our money. They aren't responsible for reporting the money. When taxes are increased, they only affect the lower and middle class, the rich get richer with tax loop holes.

I think single platform voting is a major reason so many people get left behind. When you only vote for one issue, doesn't that mean that you ignore all the other ones? I think voting for president is a very personal decision that shouldn't be reduced to single issues. I believe you can care about both Iraq AND the environment, and I believe there is a candidate out there who cares about your issues (or most of them) and takes the same stand you would.
For example, I agree with pretty much everything Barack Obama puts forth in his book, "The Audacity of Hope," except his ideas on gay marriage. He's only for civil unions, and I believe that people are people and the government shouldn't treat anyone any differently. Also that marriage doesn't need the government to protect it, but the people within those marriages.
Though I care about gay marriage, I understand that there are other issues out there, and while his ideas aren't exactly like mine, they are close.

All three of these things you want evidence a complete denial of reality.
Look, reality isn't subjective. It isn't a matter of opinion. We ARE at war. Guantanamo is part of that war, it isn't part of the criminal justice system.
Also, government funding of alternative fuels is based on your lack of understanding of the current status of such endeavors. This isn't the Manhattan Project, nuclear knowledge was far more advanced when that came into being. To analogize the current alternative fuel with the Manhattan Project, you'd have to think that we weren't sure whether to use uranium or goat cheese for fuel at the time it started.
What the government CAN do to reduce our dependence on foreign oil is get out of the way. Government, at the insistence of liberals, has passed regulations preventing domestic production of oil, and has prevented the construction of a new nuclear reactor for FORTY YEARS.
What liberals don't get is that government isn't the solution. It's the problem. More government will not solve problems created by excessive government

1. We need a plan to get factories/jobs back in the U.S. My town has lost 3 factories this year and it is a small town.
2. We need to get rid of unnecessary tax paying jobs and unnecessary spending. If you work for a company you better keep busy or you will be let go... it seems like it is not the same for goverment jobs on all the levels. Further, it seems that we have a lot of people in goverment doing usless "studies" in order to keep a job. Stop the useless committies, studies and spending! Make all departments stick to a budget.
3. Come up with a national health care plan that will work. Further their should be a set price for medical expenses. It should not be different for someone with insurance than someone without insurance and limits should be set on what doctors/hospitals can charge for services.

1. You don't give foreigners the same rights as Americans.
2. I agree. We already invaded the country and killed the leader. Thats how you win a war, we already did. It's time to leave.
3. We are funding alternative fuels. Now if the idiots would stop blocking the building of emission free, no oil, nuclear power plants, we would be in good shape.
