if you have balance that's good...........many have extremes.
I believe if you follow the Bible you are more likely to have more joy even with the suffering you could have joy knowing that there's a better life ahead.

Life is what you make of it, if you're stuck to clingy attachments to all the things you wrongly think will make you happy all the time, though such things are impermanent and don't bring happiness, then you'll suffer to some degree or another... if you learn balance and understanding about the things you own and choose to have in your life, then you might know more joy.

I definitely believe that we all have our share of sorrow. But I believe that my joy is not circumstantial. My joy can not be taken from me by sorrow or grief. (and I have had my share)My joy is incorruptible. I think you may need to explore what true joy means and look for that.
