Alright, I love my boyfriend...i really do. Been seeing him for over 4 months and i really want to KEEP seeing him...but there is a tiny little problem....he says "i love you.." every 5 minutes!! He writes me a note...and it says I love you in it like 30 times...he's not so bad when we are together but thats only because we are around other people and he doesn't want to be all mushy. Now dont get me wrong...i LOVE to hear him say that he loves me...but he says it so much its starting to not mean anything...he's a really sensitive guy and i dont want to hurt him by telling him that he needs to back off with the "I love yous"...what do i do? or how can i tell him nicely that he doesnt need to say it every 5 minutes?

Be honest and tell him how you feel. Communication a very big part of any relationship. He should appreciate your honesty and he should respect your feelings.

I don't know that there is a way to do this without hurting his feelings...you can sit him down and tell him that him telling it to you so often makes you feel like he is trying to reassure himself and you wish he would say it a little less, but that may crush him.
I know it feels stiffling but so many women have the opposite problem....they are with a man who never shows their love or affection. Which way would you prefer it? I realize a nice, middle ground would be ideal but it doesn't always work out that way.

show him that you know that he loves you. and show him that you love him too. i'm the same way as your boyfriend.. i've been going out with a guy for almost 4 months and we say i love you all the time but we used to say it more. i used to not be sure of myself whether he knew that i loved him or if he was sure that i couldn't live without him. you kno he loves you and that is alot of reassurance but try to get sick of him. if you love him too you should be able to talk to him and just tel him baby i know you love me and i love you too so dont' worry i'll be here no matter what. you just really need to reassure him and let him know that you love him too and make him see that you're happy too.

I believe that you need to come right out and let him know that you love to hear hm say I LOVE YOU but that you think it might not mean so much when it is repeated so many times. Also let him know that sometimex actions speak much louder than words.

OMg, this is exactly what i got, i didnt say it as often and then felt like cause he said it so much he didnt really mean it, after two years we ended up breaking up cause he felt just cause i never said it as much i didnt love him which was so not true so you'll need to talk to him about it, tell him you love hearing him say it but tell him not to say its so much or it will lose its effect!

Hes saying, "I love you" to cover up stuff. And he is trying to make sure that you know that he cares although he is doing dirt... Ask him why do u always have to be around other people... why cant u go over his house?

Tell him how you feel. Let him know that you understand and that maybe you do to, but you don't want to just throw the words around or take them forgranted. That it reallly means something to you and you want it to mean something to him to.
