do you have cats? or have you been exposed to cat litter? How long have you had these symptoms? are the lumps boils, other infections, or lymph nodes? any risky sexual behavior (either your or your wife). Well or tap water? any plane trips or visits to foreign countries? Have you both been tested for HIV or Hepatitis? How long have you been on antibiotics? Any history of lupus? mono? what county are you from? rural or urban area?
This could be a ton of things, but you simply do not give enough info. I can think of several dozen things right off the top of my head that would make you feel ill and make your lymph nodes swell. Take the antibiotics and return for a follow up if things don't improve. If there is still no answers, get a second opinion.

first of all u have not mentioned for how long you & your wife have been suffering from this condition.
& if u have travelled outside your country in the past 1 month..
your condition is suggestive of mumps
mumps is an acute viral disease spread from person to person by sneezing & coughing. it is highly contagious..it is a disease of childhood but can affect adults.
symptoms include:
low gradefever, swelling & tenderness of one or more salivary glands..on one or both sides of faces, headache, muscle ache.
The incubation time, which is the period from when a person is exposed to virus to the onset of any symptoms, can vary from 16 to 18 days (range 12-25 days)
period or time that an infected person can transmit mumps to a non-infected person is from 3 days before symptoms appear to about 9 days after the symptoms appear.
Diagnosis
Should be made by your physician and laboratory testing may be required.Currently, there is no specific treatment for mumps.

Trust the MD's. Antibiotics will not "make the problem immediately go away". The meds must be finished as instructed on the label. The antibiotics are actually to keep you from other possible illness. Return to your MD's if you feel "things are getting worse".

Go see a Naturopath. Have an allergy test done. He/She will also ask extensive questions in regards to diet, & lifestyle. While Md's definately have their place, this just may not be one of them. An ND. (Naturopathic Dr.) is trained not in medicine, but nutrition and many people find that when their regular doc is at a loss for answers, the ND might say, "oh! It's just a simple case of bla bla bla..." Definately worth a try.
Also might get your water tested...

It sounds like you have cervical adenopathy accompanying a virus. Usually within a ten day period this will resolve. In other words, swollen lymph nodes in the neck as your bodies are fighting the disease. So since I dont know how long it has been it is difficult to say. Has it been more than 10 days?

I simply gave this reply to one more individual but it surely could paintings right here too. Yes, it most likely can. I do not know of any one who received married and stayed married without problems due to the fact the intercourse used to be well. If it's determined at a few factor in the course of a wedding through each companions that intercourse isn't integral for one or either one of then you so be it. The emotional and monetary explanations for being married would possibly nonetheless be there however the bodily stimulation has for a few rerason or one more "died". I realize of couples on this crisis they usually paintings across the intercourse drawback. One of the men has an association in which his freind sleeps along with his spouse two times per week due to the fact he can not participate in. Sounds somewhat unusual, but it surely works for them. In your case you may additionally wish to speak in your spouse approximately oral and anal intercourse.

could possibly be chemical exposure or any number of other things. I would suggest getting a second opinion. Stop drinking tap water and if you drink diet soda or use artificial sweetner stop that as well.
