As an atheist, I can honestly say I do not hate God. I can not understand how a higher being is even possible. I hate religion because I do not understand how someone I have never even met can tell me how to live. People are corrupt, and religion is led by people.

As a Christian I do not believe that Athiests hate God. Athiests don't believe in God or any higher power other than themselves, so how can one hate what one does not believe in? As for Santa, I love him! I've believe in Santa since I was a kid!

Well some don't believe in Santa, and Atheists don't believe in God, so they can't hate Him.
As for Santa, I don't hate him. I like to think of the real St. Nikolas and that's it. I don't like what he was turned into and I surely don't think of him on christmas.

As an Atheist I do not hate god.
You can't hate something you don't believe in.
But you can hate the things that a diety represents. I think the atrocities and problems that believe in god creates can be hated. And many atheists I think would agree with that.

Good point.
What about leprechauns. Why hate them? They have done nothing but cause a little mischief throughout the ages. Thats what the Irish book of tales tells us, and I choose to believe it. Why do Christians hate Leprechauns?

You only hate something that exist.
Atheists don't hate God, just don't think God exist.

In other words, your point is that you can't hate something that doesn't exist, which is absolutely correct.
