I am aware of gotomypc.com but I would prefer a system that did not use the internet. I would rather have a direct connection over phone lines. Both of these computers are older, so the software would have to work with Win98. I mainly just want to be able to run QuickBooks from home so my wife/bookkeeper does not have to come to the office as often.

Personally, I think you should get a pro to set it up for you. Near my home we have a place called PC Housecalls. I had a tech come to my home and setup our three PCs. He charged $60 an hour, but if you call for an appointment and ask what you can do to get everything ready for him, it will be $60 well spent. Trust me on this.

That is impossible without an internet connection. Your existing equipment, apps and methods are obsolete.

You should seriously consider buying two XP (not Vista, if you can avoid it) PCs, then try www.logmein.com, it's free. Expect to have to buy the latest version of QuickBooks, too.
