If you had salty food yesterday, like a handful of peanuts or a pizza, or some sushi with some soy sauce, or some salty popcorn at the movie theater, or any food in cans, this will easily add about 2 pounds to your weight because of water retention. Salt makes your body retain water and the way to get rid of it is...to drink more water so it flushes out the salt.
You also can weigh more because you did not have a good bowel movement yesterday. Having your period always adds several pounds to your regular weight.
If you worry about what the scale says, either stop weighing yourself or weigh yourself every day and do a little chart with your everyday weigh and you will see the ups and downs.

I personally chose to weigh myself everyday so when I have a peak of a few pounds, I do not worry because if I look at the whole month, it's just a peak.

And if I gain a pound, I will know it because my monthly average goes up, so I act accordingly, right away (I do not wait until I have 10 pounds or more to lose).

If you're a teenage girl, some weigh gain will be normal because you're becoming a woman. Your height should also go higher. Maybe, you'll get to be 5"5 (the average) and you should not worry about your weight unless it goes over 120 pounds (unless you're a muscular athlete).

a lot of women get "bloated" during their periods and gain a little for the time being, but it does go away with your period, but 5 pounds is a bit much to gain over such a short period..but within a year or two your metabolism will kick into overdrive so dont worry about it too much. besides, you are not even close to fat, if anything, you're at a healthy weight for your age/height

Wishing will not help much. Be active. Exercise regularly and play some outdoor or indoor games regularly irrespective of your periods. Weight is a matter of exercise and games.
