ok, so from christian answers from recent questions, i've discovered that they would rather die and let their children die, than convert to another religion.
now, what if you were put into the postition (through terrorism or whatever) that you had to either kill yourself, or your only child and the other one survives. suicide is a sin for which you go to hell, as is murder, but knowing you can repent your sin and still get into heaven after murdering your child, which would you do?
please don't give the answer "it's not that simple" because it is that simple if you're under the control of some crazy terrorist as my question implies.
i don't mean to be morbid, i am just really trying to understand some of your values. thanks

I would just like to point out that in your previous questions it was not just the christians who said they would die for their religion.

I also stated that I would die for mine. As to answer your question, I can honestly say I don't know what I would do. I would like to think I would never have to make that choice, and would fight like crazy to prevent from having to kill either child, if it came down to me or my children, I would go in a heartbeat, no question. But by doing that, I remove any form of protection that my child may have had if I was still alive, they would from that point on be at the hands of the terrorist.

Could you willingly sacrifice yourself, leaving your child helpless at the hands of a terrorist who would demand your life? If he would demand your life, to save your child, who's to say they won't demand worse from your child?

I don't think I would sacrifice my children's lives for my religion as it is not their choice. I would do all I could to keep them safe. But I would sacrifice my own life for my beliefs. As I stated before, they are not a part of me, they are me. As much as my brown eyes, or freckles are.

I would not sacrifice any lives for my beliefs but ... oops ... I'm not Christian nor do I belong to any other organised religion. Neither do I believe in hell so ... oops again.
