Most Muslims are actually nice people, living normal lives just the same as you and me. There are a few bad seeds that people seem to think rule the religion, but these terrorists are by far in the minority.
There is not a particular sect of Islam that is better than the others, although Sunnis tend to be the closest to True Islam.

Some of the loveliest people I know are Muslim...
I believe that their good qualities would be the way the ordinary muslims behave... (like they bring up their children to respect people and stuff like that) the fact that they work hard)
I believe that their bad qualities they have are the fact that they either tend to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, one sect persecutes the other sect... and of course the fact that there are extremists, but then I think every religion has its extremists, but Islamic extremists are the ones spoken about the majority of the time...
I feel that the group who is persecuted might be the better group, partly because I knew some, in Australia and I know what its like to be persecuted because of my beliefs....

I love Islam as I'm Muslim myself. Muslims have lots of good qualities and hardly any bad. Neither branch is better.

I always think you should separate the person from the belief.
There are many doctrines in the religion that are disturbing, like the whole jihad concept and the idea of polygamy, child brides, death penalty for people who decide they no longer wish to follow that religion. Those doctrines, in my opinion, are dangerous and I believe they are unhealthy and wrong.
However, the doctrines are not people. People are just trying to do what is right. Unfortunately, their mistake is believing that "jihad" and other bad ideas are right. This does not make them bad people, it just makes them misguided. Mostly, the very strict sects like Wahabi believe in a very literal reading of the scriptures feel this way. Muslims don't all believe this way.

They're like christians, but more immature, more wazi in their rituals and wholly more aggressive.
The way I see it.... to put the abrahamic religions as a family...... Judaism is the grumpy old man who keeps to himself and quietly grumbles about the modern way, Christianity is the beligerant teenager who locks itself in its room to shut the world out and complains loudly through the door... and Islam is the bratty little kid prone to temper-tantrums if it doesn't get its own way.
It is a thoroughly dysfunctional family... though I'm inclined to say that the old geezer is the safest to be around.

Opinion ? Rock bottom. Good qualities ? None
Bad qualities ? Read the newspapers.
The only good branch is on their trees.
