Very costly book. I need to scan some informations.

Glossy paper will reflect more light from the scanner and could mess up the scan. Still, it shouldn't really be a problem. Most scanning software will show you a preview and you can correct the contrast before you save your results.

no there is no problem from scanning from a glossy paper, all photo papers are glossy.
