First, check to see if he has any cue balls. If not, then give it a little while longer. If it still doesn't work and you break up, I'll move to Ca. and be your boyfriend.

It sounds like you are uncomfortable and/or not satisfied with the relationship and rather than admit that to yourself and becoming the, gasp, "bad guy", you are projecting your feelings on to your boyfriend so you can get out of the relationship "guilt" free.
You wouldn't be the bad guy - just tell him it's not working out for you and that you will not see him anymore and wish him the best of luck in life.

i'd have to ask why he's uncomfortable, i mean if it's his real first then he should be excited knowing he has a great girl with him and she's not going to hit him with a cue ball...just tell him to lighten up, mess with him a bit, hit with a pillow throw food at him, or tickle him to death, somethin that's take his mind off this whole "your his girlfriend there are rules" mindset that I'm sure he has, and get him to be comfortable. Tough one, the heart and mind never can agree. Go with your head sweetie, if he is uncomfortable, with you, he will be with all girls. Lack of self confidence is usaully the problem it is nothing you can help him with
You could one day dress all sexy for him, hose, heels, make up, hair all done cute, he would love it, might make him less uncomfortable around you, but it would only be temporary.
He needs to find his, umm "comfort" and not your responsibility no matter how much you like or want to be with him.
this time, listen to your head.

When tensions rise it's time to say good byes, thus perhaps with some time apart you may realize that it was the best thing to do at the time, and or it may strengthen your relationship? We're all different, and we all need time alone from time to time, so good luck:)
