I already know how the money is spent. It's spent on face creams and hair dye. The mom doesn't work. I know what I pay a week and it doesn't take that much to raise a kid. I just want to know why it is possible for someone to sit on her butt all day while everyone else pays her way? Her house and car were paid for by her mother. She's always quick to start the finger wagging even though I'm completely paid up in child support. The thing I want to ask her is what SHE has contributed to the raising of our kid? The answer is NOTHING. She done nothing but manage the money that everyone else has earned. She's 41 and has done this her whole life.
As for the laws changing...you have to realize that a whole generation of women have been raised to think of being a parent is something they should get paid for. The chances of the laws changing anytime soon are slim. They hide behind "the best interests of the children" whenever you bring it up and they claim you are trying to get out of paying child support when you want more time with your kids. I would support a change in the laws but it will be a long time coming.

Why do men always ask this question. I'll explain it to you quickly. Child Support is just that. Support of your child. It's the difference between a 1 bedroom house and a 2/3 bedroom house. It's the extra water, electricity and food, over the same for one person. It's the clothes, toys and entertainment that every child needs. I realize that there are some trifling B's out there that can abuse the system, but you look at how much the things I stated cost and think about what you pay a month. You're just reimbursing her for what she pays every month, whether that check is in the mail or not.

Been on both sides. A father should know whether is child is being well cared for, has proper nutrition and a place to live. As far as seeing how every penny is spent? Get over it. The day to day cost of having children around is not easily measured. I babysat my two grandchildren aged 4 and 2. When I stopped keeping them full time, our water bill dropped, the electric bill dropped and our grocery bill dropped.

I get so freakin tired of men using the exscuse of the money isn't being spent on the kid. If that kid lives with the mother & she's taking that money & paying rent, water bill, cable, etc...that's all a part of taking care of a child!!! As long as when u see ur kid & their not dirty & lookin poor then u should have no say in how that money is spent.
My son's father is the same he won't pay cause he thinks I'll take the money & spend it on a man or my hair or nails.....as if I don't work every freakin day! U men need to come up off it for real & face the fact that u have no control over it!!

First, I'm a step mom and i KNOW that the money is not being used to support the kids.
As for the second, I would be more interested in contributing time, letter writing, marching, being generally loud. I can't contribute money as we already paid it all to the ex for child support.

If the money is going for rent, utilities, and food, it's supporting the child. You'd do better to start a movement getting the fathers more involved with their children's lives, then you know where the money is going without passing a law.

I had this argument with my daughter's father. He was late on his payment and I called him because I needed gas. He said that was not his problem. How ignorant! If I don't have gas, I can't get to work, the store, to daycare. He doesn't need to know how I spend the money, just that his childs needs were being met. Which they were and very well I might add considering how little I made and how little he paid. If I wanted to use it to go to lunch it is not his business as long as she was taken care of. I know there are worthless women out there that use the money to buy nails, clothes, hair dos while their children suffer. Those b*tches need the children taken from them. But most of us single mommies put our babies first and ourselves second.

first of all, child support today is based upon BOTH parents incomes, thus both parents contribute to the childs needs.
they dont require a list of where it goes, because its common sense and so obvious...
you pay what? 400? 600? 900?
ok, lets see...
rent; 1000
electric 300
food 400-600
diapers 75-150 per month (fluctuates when baby is sick or teething)
heat 300
phone/cable 100
auto; (for doctors, dentists, take to school when they miss the bus, pick up when sick, pick up medicines, get food) 200
clothing/shoes/boots 200-400 every 2 to 3 months (seasonal and they grow)
that doesnt even include dental, doctors, glasses, daycare, activities, hair cuts, school supplies, school lunches, school projects, class trips, class pictures, over the counter medicines, prescriptions, laundry det, dish det, cleaners, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, acne medicines, bras, pads, christmas, easter, halloween, tooth fairy, birthdays, etc. and sooo much more.
try calling 1-800- I CANT ADD

I would be very interested to see how this would work....who, exactly, would be deciding whether and how much was going to what? Child support is decided on using a formula of mutual salary and time spent with the child. Once you pay, you have no right to know exactly how the mother is spending it......
If the kid is walking around in torn clothes, shoes with holes in them and hungry, then you have grounds for investigation. If not, it is none of your concern. Let it go.
